Moondancer

Moondancer has to be the gentlest herd stallion one could imagine. It helped that he was the "baby" when we started our little herd. As I recall, he was just over 6 months old. Jeannie had shown us his father, a palomino with a tail so long that at least 2 feet dragged on the ground as he walked. Jeannie usually kept it rolled up and tucked in a bag so that brushing and untangling a tail wasn't too onerous. Well, Moondancer has certainly inherited his sire's tail, if not his coloration. He's pretty well black, but he has that same long, long tail.

He seems pretty content off in his own little pasture, but we usually can find him rubbing noses with some of the others through the electric fence wire. He's always happy to see us and get a treat and his grain (and hay in the winter). Of course, he also appreciates company whenever we put Mandy or Hannah in there with him. He especially likes to run, and several of the pictures show that. He has a fantastic trot and all of his gaits are flowing.

First days June 1999 October , 2001 - peekaboo showing off his trot peekaboo again
Nov 2001, he has a shelter and he doesn't mind being petted at all October 2003 - out for a run

he does like to run whether he has company or not and he knows how to take it easy - December 2004
